How to use pva bait bags and solu-ties

Two of Godman’s most popular products are our PVA solid bait bags, and our SoluTies, and for good reason! Today we’re going to give you a short and simple breakdown on exactly how to use these two much loved products, and some tips and tricks to go along with them! Let’s go:

  1. Get hold of our PVA bait bags - You can buy these from our shop. Godman Angling offers various different sizes of PVA embossed bait bags, so find the one that suits you best. Find out more about why we use PVA and why it’s so great HERE.

2. Start filling your PVA bag with a bait of your choice (we recommend a mix or a groundbait!), this is purely to pad the hook, to stop the point getting damaged when dropping the lead into the bag. This step also helps add even more attraction to your PVA bait bag!

3. Next, drop your lead into the bag. Add a little scoop of pellet / preferred bait into the bag, whilst easing the lead into the centre of the bag.

4. Keep adding pellet / preferred bait, making sure the bag is nice and compact to give you the best results.

5. When almost all of your pellet / preferred bait is in the bag, pat the bag down and squeeze, to get all of the air pockets out.

6. Add the last little bit of pellet / preferred bait to the top of your bag. After filling your bag, pat the bag and squeeze again, for extra confidence.

7. Tighten and twist the top of your bag, ready for the SoluTie to be tied on. You want to try to get the bag as compact as possible, this makes it good for casting.

8. Grab a Solu-Tie. You can purchase these from the Godman Angling shop.

9. Wrap it round the twist you just made at the top of the bag. Attach the Solu-Tie appropriately, and remember to keep it super tight, this will really help whilst casting.

10. Roll the bag again after attaching the Solu-Tie.

11. Trim off any excess from the tie, or the top of the bag.

12. Squish in the corners by pinching them, licking your finger, and folding them down. Use the lick, fold and stick method for this step. This will make the bag perfectly streamline for casting. Repeat this process on both sides.

13. And there you have it! A perfect solid bait bag. Enjoy!

We hope this quick and easy tutorial was helpful to you, and remember, every great fisherman has different methods, so use these products at your own convenience! You can grab these products mentioned in our shop, go and check them out if you haven’t already!
